The history of groin hernia repair dates back to the times of Ancient Egypt and Greece, including also Hippocrates reference, Galen anatomical insights and passing to Middle Ages in 13th Century when Ronaldo Parmensis in Practica Chirurgiae established a cornerstone with details of medical treatment of hernia with an astonishing picture.
