Abstract

We present the case of an obese patient with diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia diagnosed 12 years ago with rheumatoid polyarthritis, non-responding to disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and anti-TNF antibodies who developed symptomatic episodes of tachyarrhythmia with important prognostic consequences. Cardiovascular risk assessment and the adoption of cardiovascular disease prevention strategy are integral part of the management of the patient with rheumatoid polyarthritis.
